The Super High Roller Bowl Online (SHRBO) continues to block out sunbeams as it cruises across the chaotic and choppy waters of partypoker. Three events dropped a few million bucks into bank accounts with the nonchalance of mother nature dropping a few withered leaves onto the ground.

Here they are.

The phenomena known as Adrian Mateos banked the most significant prize of the day. The Spaniard trounced a field of 61-entrants in Event #17: $25,500 No Limit Hold’em. His award of $527,509.70 is the third most magnificent of the series behind Justin Bonomo ($622,634), and Daniel Dvoress ($613,986.70). It was the second time Mateos had scrambled over the precipice of the in the money (ITM) strata finishing fifth in Event #14. Mateos got the better of Seth Davies, heads-up. Davies also finished third in Event #12 recently.

Artur Martirosian won Event #16 $10,300 No Limit Hold’em. The Russian star hammered 75-entrants to claim the $234,604.50 first prize, continuing a run of form that’s seen him win two Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) titles in May.

Linus Loeliger pulverised the 76-entrant field in Event #18: $10,300 No Limit Hold’em. The Swiss star earned $237,732.56 for the win, his first ITM finish of the series. Vicent Bosca Ramon finished second, and there was another Top 3 finish for David Peters, in third.

Mike Watson

Had it not been for the Michael Phelps like-performance of Connor ‘blanconegro’ Drinan during the PokerStars Spring Championships of Online Poker (SCOOP) (his swimming and not his poker performances), Michael ‘SirWatts’ Watson would have blipped on more radar screens.

He’s blipping today.

The Canadian High Roller took down the third win of the series, and all three have been in different disciplines, demonstrating the incredible quality and diversity of this genius.

Watson vanquished 148-entrants in Event #113: $1,050 6+ Hold’em to claim the $29,997.02 first prize after beating ‘GODofHU’ in heads-up action. He adds the 6+ Hold’em title to Event #51: $1,0500 No Limit 2-7 Single Draw, and Event #66: $2,100 No Limit Hold’em. Watson has now won six career SCOOP titles.

Michael ‘iambest2’ Eibinger also secured a victory before we all settled down to watch the mayhem on CNN this past weekend. The Austrian star defeated 96-entrants in Event #105: $5,200 No Limit Hold’em Midweek Freeze Six Max. The win earned Eibinger $111,703.80 game points, and he will need them with the Super High Roller Bowl Online (SHRBO) submerging most people’s bankrolls deeper than they usually go.

The poker community has whizzed fervently through 360- SCOOP tournaments like a London cabbie with ‘The Knowledge.’ The series has seen 2,662,376 entrants compete, and the total prize money stands at $175,717,483 with 11-events left to run.

It’s partypoker, so there is no ‘Isildur1’. The saccharine pseudonym that once assaulted the senses may be gone, but the creator of the man, the myth, the legend is very much alive.

Someone has opened the gates to the zoo, and Viktor Blom is out of his cage, tearing more than his fair share of flesh from the 2020 Super High Roller Bowl Online (SHRBO).

The Swedish star came into Day 6 of the SHRBO on top of the preliminary leaderboard after taking down Event #9, and finishing runner-up in Event #2 and Event #8. Now the points gap between Blom and the other animals has grown considerably.

Blom crystallised his menacing molestation of the SHRBO by conquering a field of 40-entrants in Event #14: $25,500, earning maximum points and $407,500 after beating Mike Watsons, heads-up.

David Peters finished third in Event #14, and the former Global Poker Index (GPI) World #1 had a sterling day, conquering a field of 70-entrants in Event #13: $10,300 No Limit Hold’em.

Justin Bonomo remains in a strong position in the rankings after finishing third in Event #13, and sixth in Event #15. The winner of Event #15 came from Canada, with Mark Radoja beating Pauli Ayras, heads-up, during the endgame of a 60-entrant Battle Royale. The World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner collected $195,000 for the win.

As the great asphalt desert of the Las Vegas Strip prepares to step into the unknown, poker’s hierarchy doesn’t have to venture out of the house just yet.

Poker Central’s Super High Roller Bowl Online continues to pepper partypoker’s poker platform, and Justin Bonomo emerged as the big winner on Day 5.

The one-time winningest live multi-table tournament (MTT) aficionado in history emerged triumphant in Event #11: $25,500 No Limit Hold’em. Bonomo conquered a field of 72-entrants to win the $622,634.40 first prize and moves into fifth place on the preliminary leaderboard.

Vicent Bosca Ramon and Ludovic Geilich also experienced the uncanny synchronicity that accompanies any tournament win in poker. Ramon took down the 77-entrant field in Event #10: $10,300 No Limit Hold’em Six Max. The Spaniard sits in 7th place on the leaderboard after recording his third cash of the series. Geilich outlasted a 69-entrant field in the other $10,300 No Limit Hold’em encounter, his first in the money (ITM) finish of the series.

There was no dearth of near misses for Matthias Eibinger. The Austrian finished ITM in all three events, coming closest in Event #10, losing to Ramon, heads-up for the title.

Kristen Bicknell, Wiktor Malinowski, Luuk Gieles, Andrii Novak, and Ali Imsirovic each finished ITM in two events. Daniel Dvoress also finished ITM in Event #11, enough to see him rise to third in the overall rankings behind Viktor Blom and Dan Smith neither of whom made their mark.

Few people in modernity, have smashed the virtual felt with the same impact as Viktor’ Isildur1′ Blom. He wasn’t pretentious. He wasn’t big time. He was a star who loved poker and the way it made him feel.

We’ve seen less of him in recent times, punctured by the odd million-dollar result, but when we do see him, it tends to be on the tournament circuit, not the arena where people used to shower him with roses.

But who cares, right?

As long as we see more of the man ‘being the man’.

The Swedish star currently occupies the #1 spot on the Super High Roller Bowl (SHRB) Online Preliminary Leaderboard after a Day #3 performance that made poker connoisseurs lose the ability to form sentences.

Blom conquered the 75-entrant field in Event #9: $10,300 No Limit Hold ’em and added his $213,750 purse to the $365,500 obtained for finishing runner-up to Dan Smith in Event #8: $25,500 No Limit Hold ’em.

Smith currently sits in second place on the leaderboard. Not only did he win Event #8 for $527,000, but he also finished eighth in Event #9, and is one of four players to have finished in the money (ITM) in four of the first nine events.

Luuk Gieles was the other winner of the day, defeating 90-entrants to win the $234,000 first prize in Event #7: $10,300 No Limit Hold ’em. George Wolff finished runner-up in that event for his third cash of the series, and Ali Imsirovic finished third for his first cash.

We all have our thing.

Some of us like to gawk at the underside of motorway bridges. Others prefer the modern madness of a shopping mall. Then there are those of us who want nothing better than to relax in the comfort of our own home watching two people battling it out on the high stakes poker tables.

If you’re the latter, then you need to find a newfound reverence for something else, for a short while, at least.

Match #3 in the ‘Galfond Challenge’ is over, and Phil is losing his touch.

After the absurd way that Galfond recovered from a one million euro hiding from ‘VeniVidi1993’ in Match #1, to win at the death, in a gut and glory display of this great game – his match with ‘ActionFreak’ felt a tad tepid.

After losing €6.5k after the first two sessions, Galfond grabbed a blank canvas, slapped it on an easel, and painted a run of results that shut ‘ActionFreak’ out of the lead ever again.

Ever the scrutiniser of his work, Galfond will be a little irked at the way his final two sessions went (he lost close to €300,000) but will be relieved that the match is over.

Galfond can get back to chopping mushrooms without seeing the head of ‘ActionFreak’ underneath his knife after coming out on top by €114,803.51 through 15,000 hands of €150/€300 Pot-Limit Omaha. Add a €150,000 side bet to the mix, and, well, not bad, Phil. Not bad.

Entering the final session, Galfond led by €237,803.51. ‘ActionFreak’ put in a sterling performance on the last day, winning €123,000, but it wasn’t enough to tip the canoe in his balance, and the man who adorned his bedroom walls with posters of the master, had to settle for the experience of going toe-to-toe with one of his idols.

Galfond is now up €366,000 after winning both matches against ‘VeniVidi1993’ and ‘ActionFreak.’ He is also up more than $90,000 after the first 1,000 hands of his stop-start match with Bill Perkins. One assumes that this resumes once Galfond has spent some time clearing the silverfish from his bathroom, or whatever else he gets up to when not winning and losing millions playing poker.

Here are the final results.

Results

It’s unusual to see a high roller playing in the Unibet Open, but Max Silver is an ‘unusual’ high roller. He might even shake his head at me, portraying him as a ‘high roller.’ Still, when you turn up at a Triton Poker Super High Roller Series to compete in the high stakes Short-Deck events, a high roller you become.

Silver is unusual because he doesn’t stick with high stakes actions, preferring to move in and out of games along the mid-stakes axis. Included in his plans was a February trip to the Unibet Open in Dublin where a few implicit memories formed after a 16th placed finish in the €1,100 Main Event and a fourth-place finish in the €2,200 High Roller.

The second time Silver experienced the value of a Unibet Open event he did so from the comfort of his home. In reaction to lockdown, Unibet moved their three remaining 2020 live stops into their online platform, and Silver is now wearing the crown jewels from their first one.

The Unibet Online Series ran from May 1 – 25, and offered €1m in guaranteed prize money. The €1,100 Unibet Open Online Main Event carried the largest chunk (€200,000), and 373-entrants doubled the prizepool, making it the richest in the site’s history.

According to PokerNews, Silver came into the final table with the chip lead, and ‘dominated’ proceedings, eventually winning the €77,321 first prize after ousting Jamie ‘jamnix_90’ Nixon in heads-up action. Nixon also played in Dublin, finishing eighth in the Main Event. Nobody has ever won €77,321 playing on Unibet.

The win came at the same time, Silver finished seventh in the PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) Main Event for $161,991, so it’s safe to say that his poker is singing like a nightingale.

Here are the results.

Results

  1. Max ‘SHAPOSNOVE’ Silver – €77,321
  2. Jamie ‘jamnix_90’ Nixon – €55,056

As the PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) nears its expiration date, it refuses to wilt like a dehydrated sunflower, preferring to dole out a few more exciting plotlines.

Andrew Pantling is one of the most exciting amateurs in the high stakes asylum, and when he flicks it in on PokerStars, he does so under the guise of ‘ClockWyze.’

He’s not bad, either.

The Canadian businessman saw his name etched into the winner’s plaque of Event #97: $5,200 Pot Limit Omaha Main Event 2nd Chance. Pantling defeated 167-entrants over two days to claim the $169,239 first prize. Noah ‘Exclusive’ Boeken chalked up a third-place finish a week after winning the $1,050 8-Game title.

21-players made it through to the second day, and amongst the 19 players who finished in the money were online high stakes titans Joao ‘Naza114’ Vieira and Andras ‘probirs’ Nemeth.

Here are the results.

Results

  1. Andrew ‘ClockWyze’ Pantling – $169,239
  2. Zumbapoker – $128,814

Andrey’ anjeyyy’ Novak Leads a Star-Studded $5,200 Main Event Second Chance Final Table.

There is a golden fresh butter hue about the final table of the $5,200 Main Event Second Chance. The $5,200 buy-in attracted 465-entrants, and nine remain in the hunt for the $416,472 first prize.

Andrey’ Anjeyyy’ Novak leads the way, but there are two incredible and incredibly hot players snapping at his heels. Pascal ‘Pass_72’ Lefrancois recently took down a $10,300 side event at the Super High Roller Bowl (SHRB) Online Series on partypoker, as well as winning a million dollars during the Poker Masters Online Series. Timothy ‘Tim0thee’ Adams also featured heavily in the Poker Masters cashing a record 13-times, winning one event, and finishing four grand below a million in gross profits.

Here are the chip counts.

Daniel Dvoress has taken the lead in the Super High Roller Bowl (SHRB) Online Series hosted by partypoker. The Canadian star finished sixth in Event #2: $25,500 for slightly better than a min-cash, before marching on to take the top prize in Event #5: $25,500 No-Limit Hold’em for $613,986.70.

The Canadian’s online win arrives after an impressive rash of live results that began at the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series in Montenegro (May 2019) and culminated in winning the SHRB in the Bahamas for $4m in Nov.

Dvoress is one of the 18-players to have finished in the money (ITM) in two events, and included in that two-digit number are Alex Foxen, Dan Smith and Nick Petrangelo. The American trio featured in two of the three events that finished on this day in question with Foxen coming out slightly ahead of Smith in the money earned stakes.

Outside of Dvoress, there were wins for Mikalai Vaskaboinikau and Pascal LeFrancois.

Vaskaboinikau is a high stakes reg on the European Poker Tour (EPT) circuit and finished 5/69 in 2018 €50,000 No Limit Hold’em at EPT Barcelona to record the most substantial live score of his career (€267,800). The Belarusian conquered a field of 106-entrants to win the $293,090 first prize in Event #4: $10,300 No Limit Hold’em.

Vaskaboinikau defeated Kristen Bicknell, heads-up, to collect the win, and her beau Foxen finished fifth. The 2020 Poker Masters Online Champion, Alexandros Kolonias, finished third.

LeFrancois took down the 83-entrant $10,300 No Limit Hold’em Six-Max after beating Foxen, heads-up for the title. The French-Canadian finished ITM six-times during the 2020 Poker Masters Online, winning two events, and accumulating more than a million bucks in gross revenue. Hence, he’s a flame thrower, right now.

Another round-up from the world of PokerStars and their Spring Championships of Online Poker (SCOOP), and Dominik ‘Bounatirou’ Nitsche has won his first-ever title.

The four-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner, and World Poker Tour (WPT) Champions Club member, is now a SCOOP Champ after winning the 956-entrant Event #87: $530 No Limit Hold’em.

Nitsche has earned more than $5.8m playing online multi-table tournaments (MTTs) through more than 100 victories, and this ranks as his fourth most substantial score.
